Recommended Movie: Chocolate
There is no shortage of Martial Arts movies in the world -- unfortunately, this also means that there is no shortage of CRAPPY Martial Arts movies in the world. But fear not! I am here to help you find the good ones. First up on the list is “Chocolate” -- basically a Tony Jaa movie, without Tony Jaa.
I give this movie a solid 8/10. Yanin Vismitananda does an absolutely fantastic job, and I think she has a big future in the industry. The fight scenes are spectacular. The production quality is superb (produced by the same folks as Ong Bak and The Protector). My only complaint was the dialog -- but I was watching it subtitled, so it probably lost something in the translation. It was also a bit confusing at times, but I’m willing to chalk that up to cultural differences.
The short version is: See this movie. If you like Martial Arts movies, you will love Chocolate.
